The Invite
Work begins with an invite.
Every invite leads to conversation, and conversation seeks alignment. The first step is a personal consultation. This is not delegated or filtered through a team. This is an attentive discussion of intention, silhouette, material, and the life the garment is meant to inhabit.
Early sketches translate into form.
These sketches are preliminary.
The dialogue continues until the client and practice arrive at clarity. The process moves into structure. A toile is created, usually in calico or muslin. Textile and texture are crafted by skilled hands around the country while the silhouette is finalized. The garment takes shape before it finds its final textile. The chosen textile — handwoven, natural, and selected for its integrity — is prepared with precision. Construction details, fitting refinements, and structural decisions are translated carefully for the artisans.Every detail is held by hand.
The work moves between hand and wearer until it arrives at its resolved form. The process cannot accelerate without intent. Every line remains deliberate. Not every Invite becomes work.
All invited work is fairly remunerated for labour, time, and material.
Work is shaped in conversation with the wearer and the textile.
It is not replicated.Completed work enters the Archive as record.
